Despite a $1 Billion Lawsuit, Cristiano Ronaldo Introduces His 4th NFT Collection with Binance

Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese football sensation, has announced the opening of his fourth non-fungible token (NFT) collection in collaboration with Binance.

The new collection honors the football player’s legacy and includes highlights from his remarkable career. It is scheduled to debut on May 29 on the Binance NFT Marketplace.

The amount of NFTs in the new collection will not be disclosed until the series debuts, and the cost has not yet been mentioned. The post did, however, clarify that while the price for “the final Super Rare NFT” in the collection will vary, the price for each “Normal NFT” will remain the same.

In addition to benefits inside the digital sphere, past NFT events with Cristiano Ronaldo included a premium experience where holders were asked to play football with the icon himself as part of the Binance promotion.

The football player was sued in a class action lawsuit in a United States federal court in Florida for his prior involvement in NFT collection sales with Binance, as Cointelegraph reported back in November 2023.

Ronaldo “promoted, assisted in, and/or actively participated in the offer and sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance,” according to the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, and he should have known that Binance was engaged in these kinds of actions.

The lawsuit against Cristiano Renaldo resulted from Binance’s prior legal troubles, which led to founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao’s conviction for encouraging fraud in the United States. He was found guilty in April 2024 of participating in a purported money laundering operation and was given a four-month prison sentence.
